Book Your Bowen Session

Covid-19 9 Aug 2020

There are, of course, Covid19 related changes to my normal practice in line with both Government requirements and the recommendations from the various professional physical therapy associations. These aim to ensure that the risks, of both picking up and/or further spreading Covid-19, are kept to a minimum.

During this time we will be asking all clients to complete the Covid-19 Risk Assessment Form before attending sessions.

Clients with existing medical conditions may be asked to also complete a Covid-19 Vulnerability Form.

What is Bowen?

People choose Bowen Therapy for pain relief, stress release and injury recovery.

Bowen is a gentle, hands on therapy.

It helps to balance, restore and realign the body.

Stimulating the body to utilise natural healing responses... letting go of stress, toxins, and pain.

Bowen can benefit young or old.

Results can be seen in only 1-3 sessions.

Can it help me?

The evidence base for Bowen is building.

Bowen is known to relax, relieve stress and improve muscle flexibility and movement.

As well as bad backs and necks, Bowen can benefit people who have complex physical or emotional problems.

Experience and personal testimonies demonstrates its benefit for people of all ages.

If you are unsure if Bowen Therapy can help you click here to contact Trevor for a free consultation . He would be happy to talk.

What to expect

The client is usually lying on a bed or treatment couch, although it is possible to be treated seated.

What to wear

Light clothing can be worn. There are no oils used.

Non invasive

No underwear needs to be removed and you will be covered by towels throughout the treatment.

How does it work?

Bowtech believe that the Bowen Technique is one of the most versatile and effective therapies available today offering significant relief for many conditions.

The results experienced with Bowen are often remarkable, sometimes even after the first session.

Bowen produces good results by penetrating to a deep cellular level – making use of the body’s own ability to heal itself. Bowen 'asks' the body to recognise and make the changes it requires.

We know emotional distress causes physical problems and vice versa. Bowen works on both physical and emotional levels, holistically.

Having Treatment

Because of the effect Bowen Therapy has on improving posture, blood and lymphatic flow, organ function and the way it allows the body to go into automatic repair mode, Bowen Therapy has a legitimate claim to being the most holist form of health care ever invented.

A treatment can help your body to retrieve its memory of a relaxed and balanced state of wellbeing.

After the treatment

Reactions and Responses

Short-lived reactions to treatment are not uncommon and include tiredness, thirst, an increase in original symptoms, stiffness, headaches, flu-like symptoms, increased dream activity. It is vital that a client does not cease the treatment in response to a strong reaction.

The moves are so subtle that if a strong reaction is experienced it demonstrates how profound the work can be and further treatments are essential if the full effect is going to be felt.

On the day of the treatment

Right after your session, if you can, go out and take a 15 - 20 minute walk.
For the rest of the day, do not sit for more than 30 minutes.
Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day to flush the toxins out of your body.

Avoid heavy lifting or extreme exercise for 4-5 days.

No hot water bottles, ice packs, hot showers or hot baths.

  • AVOID any other body therapy FOR ONE WEEK
Your body will continue to heal during the next week

  • The 3 W's

WALK at least 20 minutes each day

WATER drink at least 8-10 glasses per day

WAIT one week before you have any kind of body work
